Group urges government to strengthen year-round road safety measures in response to rising fatalities

KUALA LUMPUR: The Alliance for A Safe Community has urged the government to intensify overall road safety measures to reduce road crashes and the high fatality rate through effective communication.

This call follows Transport Minister Anthony Loke's announcement that road safety campaign launches will no longer be conducted for every festive season starting this year. According to the NGO's chairman, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, this decision implies that past campaigns and communications aimed at saving lives on the road have been ineffective.
